We’re thrilled to share some special news: Precious Thoughts has been awarded Gold at the Business Women Unltd Shining Star Awards, recognising our commitment to helping people preserve their life stories and leave a lasting legacy for the ones they love.
The Gold Award was presented by Debbie Gilbert, founder of Business Women Unltd, with winners selected by an independent panel of judges recognising businesses that demonstrate excellence, innovation and outstanding impact.
In their citation, the judges said:
“The judges were genuinely moved by this innovative and deeply compassionate business, which addresses a subject many people find difficult to discuss with sensitivity and care. Precious Thoughts offers a truly unique service that enables people to leave a lasting legacy in their own words, bringing comfort and connection to families during one of life’s most difficult moments. We were particularly impressed by the entrant’s passion and determination to raise awareness of such a pioneering concept.”
Why we do this work
Founded by Elaine Lomas, Precious Thoughts offers a unique and compassionate service based in Taunton, Somerset, enabling people to record their own life stories, personal messages, eulogies and treasured memories. These recordings become an enduring keepsake, so future generations can hear their loved one’s voice, stories and reflections for years to come.
For many families, a recorded life story becomes one of the most treasured possessions they own; not a photograph or a letter, but a voice, telling its own story in its own words.
In Elaine’s words
“We are absolutely delighted to receive this Gold Award. To have our work recognised by an independent panel of judges makes this achievement even more meaningful.
At Precious Thoughts, we believe every life has a story worth preserving. Helping people leave behind their voice, their memories and their personal messages for loved ones is a privilege, and this award reflects the importance of that mission.
We are incredibly grateful to Business Women Unltd, Debbie Gilbert and the independent judges for this wonderful recognition. We hope this award encourages more people to think about the legacy they would like to leave for those they love. We send our heartfelt congratulations to all the other winners.”
